A month behind....

October was a busy month for the White House...(not just our White House, but the real one too, I think!). Between Jeff's football, my work, Jackson's preschool and church activities, the month flew by. I am hoping that as the holidays approach, we can find some time for some rest and relaxation. I tried to put on some pictures but I am not sure which ones made it 'cause there was a computer error, but hopefully the one of Jackson's preschool class made it on here. It turned out absolutely adorable. They are all precious, sweet children. It is hard for me to believe that he is growing up so fast. He wants an MP3 player for Christmas, which to me seems so grown up! We went on a field trip with the class to PaPa Charlie's pumpkin patch, near Chillicothe. It was a blast! There was a hay maze, a pedal tractor riding area, a 70 ft slide, hay bales to climb on, a pumpkin shaped moonwalk, and several trains. The kids loved it and we adults had a pretty fun time, as well! I attempted the slide with Jackson which I admit was very fun! I also attempted to put up a picture of the kids on Halloween. Jenna was a pumpkin (or "monkey" as she calls them!); Jackson was a tiger. They had a blast trick or treating in our neighborhood and got loads of candy. Since it was on a Friday nite, we made it over to Ma & Pa's, Grandma and Grandpa's and Uncle Jerel's house for loads more candy. The next day we went to Fun Farm Day, an event put on by the local FFA chapter in honor of a little boy who passed away a few years back. The kids had a blast running around in the hay maze and petting the animals. Jackson got to practice roping a fake steer! They had tons of fun things for the kids to do.
The next day, I hosted a baby shower for my sis and my soon-to-be niece, Lillyann Grace Wiley. It was a great afternoon! The cake turned out awesome and she got a lot of beautiful baby things for little Lilly. I again, tried to post a picture of the cake, but don't know if it worked or not. I was hoping to put up some family pictures that we were supposed to have taken this afternoon (outside) but due to the cold, windy, gray day we had to cancel. It has been pretty nice though, to have a Saturday with nothing really particular that we have to do. Those are the best days ever. Tonight, we are headed to our friend's house to meet with our Sunday School class bonfire. I think it should be a perfect evening to gather in front of a fire.
Until next time.....

Gallatin Homecoming Parade, Take 2

OK, Here the pictures are!!!!

Gallatin Homecoming Parade

Just got back from the parade and I wanted to post these pictures I got of the Gallatin Homecoming Parade, of the football players riding on their trailer. Jackson got to ride on there with his dad and the big boys. He liked it, but got kind of tired I think and was ready to get off by the time I saw him. But I got some decent pictures. Notice the dog with the football helmet...not something you see every day. Now we are getting ready to go to the game...hopefully will end in a Bulldog victory!

Field Trip to the fire station

Here are some pictures of Jackson's preschool field trip to the Fire Headquarters in St. Joe and then to Krug Park for a picnic lunch. A fun time was had by all (and I just took 2 Excedrin to kill the headache!) No, really it was fun. The fire station was a bit over their heads but they liked trying on the fire suits and climbing up in the fire truck, as you can see.

Our Day at Chuck E. Cheese...and other stuff

Here is some pictures from our day at Chuck E. Cheese. We went there today for Jackson's friend Kyler's birthday party. The kids had a blast of course..what else would we have expected at Chuck E. Cheese? Jenna found a slide that she slid down about 75 times or so, and Jackson had a blast running around and playing games with all his buddies. Trying to keep track of a group of children in a Chuck E. Cheese is challenging...but we had fun. The black and white one is all of our family trying to squeeze into one of those little photo booth things (the eye peeking around Jenna is Jeff's). It was nice to have a day of family fun in the midst of football season. The Bulldogs won their 2nd game on Friday, 50-6 against Albany. The three previous weeks hadn't been victorious, so they needed a win...and win it was. But now, we are facing a 5-0 Princeton team for HOMECOMING this Friday. Keep Jeff and the Bulldogs in your prayers!
Also, I have to share a little about something awesome that Jeff and I (and a lot of our fellow church members) are participating in. There is a movie that just came out Friday called "Fireproof" which is a movie created by a Baptist Church down south somewhere that was produced using an entire volunteer cast. Our pastor is preaching a segment of sermons based on the premise of the movie, and also several people are participating in home small group sessions with the goal of "Fireproofing Your Marriage." We went to our second session last night, and it is so cool! We are loving it, and haven't got to go and see the movie yet but are planning on it ASAP. Our small group leaders went to see it and said it was fabulous. So I would recommend it.

I promise I will be better at keeping up with this! My goal was to do a lot better than two posts per month, but that is what I am averaging at this point so I will try and do better.

My Blogging Debut

I am so excited that I am figuring out this blog thing. I think it is really cool but haven't really taken the time to figure it out...and since I worked last night and am up with the kids today, I figured I could use the mental stimulation to keep myself awake today! Well, we have had a lot of excitement in our home lately. Jeff is up and running with football season, which of course is always a hectic time around our house. He coached his first winning game on Aug. 29th! Yay! The pictures are the kids during the game and us after the game. Jackson started preschool on Sept. 2nd. What a big boy he is...he didn't cry and neither did I (though I was close). We started up again in Awana on the 3rd...that was an experience let me tell you! This is Jackson's 2nd year as a Cubbie, so no biggie for him. But this is my FIRST time as a leader and it was quite an experience dealing with crying three-year-olds and trying to figure out the routine. It turned out fine, though and I am expecting that tonight will be much better since we have gotten the first week out of the way...right?????
